Today’s premiere comes from the inaugural release on Cardiology, a new sub-label from Burnski and Jon Woodall’s Constant Sound imprint. Having proven his aptitude for quality sampling on his last EP for Roots for Bloom Records, young frenchman Yann Polewka steps up yet again with 4 club-ready cuts of disco-tinged house.

Our pick off the EP is the B2, “Night’s Over Vern”. Right off the bat, that mysterious harp and those crisp cowbells had us hooked, throw in a tight bassline here and some shuffling hi-hats there, and there’s the backbone of any good disco edit. But no good bit of disco is complete without a hefty dose of filtered strings, a low-pass breakdown and groovy vocals for that final drop, all of which Yann has generously provided us with. All in all, it’s safe to say that Yann has the recipe for a perfect disco edit figured out, and tracks like these are a reminder of why nobody can ever get enough of that sweet french touch.Between us, I might have given this track a round or two on the dance floor already, and believe me it works.
