Hailing from Tel Aviv, Obas Nenor has been a regular fixture on some of the most prominent labels around – Defected, Moodymann‘s Mahogani Music or Detroit Swindle‘s Heist Recordings have all hosted his releases. The talented producer, who has been performing and producing for over two decades, can also boast a Boiler Room set to his list of achievements, which is as groovy as the release we‘ll be looking into. As you might have already guessed, Nenorion Music is Nenor’s personal imprint, showcasing his own music, alongside tracks from his Tel Aviv aficionados. The latest Nenorion release sees Obas returning to his home court and delivering a 4-track EP, curiously dubbed “Warm Yellow Stickers”, which is filled with his signature dancefloor goodies.

Our premiere is A2 ‘Everybody’. From its first chords, the track raises the room temperature by at least a couple of degrees, delivering a summery vibe that will likely stay with you for a good while. Cosmic synths, a crisp and catchy vocal chop and warm guitar strums – all the ingredients for a good time are definitely there. We are already picturing ourselves dancing barefoot on the beach sand to this dancefloor heater in the coming months and expect you to do the same. Moving on, or should we say backward, we have the title track A1 ‘Warm Yellow Stickers (Part I & II)’. It sets the tone for the rest of the otherworldly disco journey that is this scorching EP with a swinging bass line and signature vintage synths.
Flipping to the other side, we have B1 ‘Wrapped in Plastic’, featuring a vocal part by the lovely Jenny Penkin. The two artists have already teamed up on Nenor’s latest Defected release and the track, supplemented by bended keys and escalating pads is a definite proves the success of their collaboration. B2 ‘Movin’ finishes the journey with aplomb, offering a head nodding groove and funky vocoder vocals that will have you looking for that ‘Replay’ button as soon as it’s finished.
Obas Nenor ‘Warm Yellow Stickers’ EP is out on Nenorion on the 29th July. Cop it here.
