Electronic producer Intriguant returns with his third album “Spirits”, a limited release vinyl under Singapore-based record label, TAV Records.
When it comes to the relationship between electronic music and Singapore, a common theme emerges in the music being produced: a longing for connectivity within the many concrete walls and high rises that residents have grown accustomed to living in.
With “Spirits”, Intriguant takes on the role of a distant observer, exploring the landscapes of many different cultures and sounds that have taken shape, both past and present. Driven by hauntingly futuristic breakbeats of the ’90s, thunderous 808s, imagined club sounds of dancing folks, and bass-heavy textures reminiscent of Burial, “Spirits” is suited both for late-night club nights and personal listening-rooms. Intriguant’s third album most vividly encompasses his experiences as an artist, highlighting his exceptional ability to manipulate electronic music to link abstract ideas to the physical world.
