Renowned London-based DJ and producer Matt Benyayer, previously celebrated for his work under the Dark Sky alias, announces the release of his latest singles ‘Infiltrator and Domiray’. These tracks are part of a series of dance focused singles to be released under his new name ‘Benyayer’.
Kicking things off: ‘Infiltrator’, a relentless track built for club sound systems with a twisted bassline that morphs throughout. Beneath it all lies a barrage of UK funky-inspired drums, punctuated by neck-snapping snares, guaranteed to wreak havoc on the dancefloor. ‘Probably one of the nuttiest tracks I’ve made to date’ recounts Matt, ‘the U.K sound of 2009-2012 was in the back of my mind a bit whilst working on this, an era in music that will always have a soft spot in my heart’.
The release of ‘Infiltrator and Domiray’ comes on the heels of support from influential DJs and radio personalities Tom Ravenscroft, Benji B, and Gilles Peterson of BBC Radio 6, along with endorsements from renowned artists such as Laurent Garnier, Jamie XX, Bicep, Bonobo, and Modeselektor to name but a few.
Benyayer takes a multidisciplinary approach, blending his fine art background from Central St Martins with his musical endeavours. The artwork and visuals were collaboratively designed and animated with Joel Hayden, reflecting a synthesis of visual and auditory elements.
To complement the release, Matt has crafted an exciting new live show that showcases modular synths and drum machines that he’s been testing across Europe, garnering rave reviews.
With an extensive touring history and performances at prestigious venues and festivals around the world, including Berghain’s 13th Birthday event at Panorama Bar, Fabric, Glastonbury, MUTEK, Dimensions, and Melt, it should come as no surprise that Benyayer’s upcoming releases are being served with a healthy dose of anticipation.
