Since launching earlier this year, Wanderist’s Transient Nature label has played host to an impressive array of artists such as Scan7, Black Cadmium, and Dukwa, whilst picking up support from Lena Willikens, India Jordan, Hunee, and many more. For the imprint’s fourth release, label boss and Dam Swindle member steps up to the plate solo, dropping the deep and dubbed-out three-track ‘Infinite reflection’ this November. Leading the EP, ‘Infinite reflection’ is a collaboration with trumpeter Bo Floor of Dutch brass band Jungle By Night. Balancing live horns and electronic instruments, the track ebbs and flows effortlessly, stretching for over seven hypnotic minutes in a haze of heady drums, bass-driven energy, and jazzy stabs.
Following is ‘Horizon A.B.’, a track that ups the tempo for a fast-paced, dub techno inspired jam, creating a propulsive yet heads-down mood before an ambient rendition of ‘Infinite reflection’ closes out the release. Stripping away the pounding drums of the original, additional synthesis and swelling atmospherics help to narrow the focus on the horn sections to craft a deep and blissful end to another stellar EP on Transient Nature.
