Nebraska’s ninth release on his Friends & Relations label presents further explorations of his ‘old records spun in new directions’ ethos. Opener ‘Deep Tune’ places a classic Memphis soul-man monologue in a new, resonant, percussively hypnotic setting.
‘Drum Track 01’ is spacious dub workout, all bass, drum and atmospherics. Side B brings us ‘Shift’; tranced-out 80s soul examined in microscopic detail. ‘Drum Track 02’ is a reframing of a crackly, wild percussion workout with dive-bombing bass drops.
As per previous F&R releases, this is limited to 300 copies on vinyl and is available from 20th July.
