Lorenzo Morresi – Abantu [Roots Underground Records]

RU007-centrino_tracciati_retro
Dj, guitarist and music producer Lorenzo Morresi debuts on Roots Underground Records for the label first 2020 release. Roots Underground will also have a new look after a restyle for the occasion.

This EP is a homogeneous and compact analog production, inspired largely by the magnificent naturalistic images taken by photographer Sebastiao Salgado in Genesis (2013). First track is Gallery (A1), featuring Tenderlonious on flute (22a Records founder). Jazzy House with aetherial atmospheres and a bass line with vibes of summer festivals. Second track is Abantu (A2) – tribal choirs samples brilliantly framed on a jazz-funk arrangement. Emotional Crash Test Dummies (B1) opens the B side. A distincitive disco sound which perfectly suits with Lorenzo’s guitar style, a psychedelic touch and a sure grip on sweaty dancefloors. Deep Down (B2) closes the EP on hyperspace directions. Abstract hip hip, soul, jazz, funk, all wisely mixed by Lorenzo. Delight for contemporary warm enveloping west coast sound lovers
