Located on the banks of the gorgeous Kura River of Georgia lies the country’s capital Tbilisi. A gateway between Europe and Asia, the city has for centuries been an important trade route which nowadays is also home to a growing number of class producers in a thriving underground scene. Today’s case study…Hamatsuki (Mamuka Tskhadaia). If the name isn’t ringing any bells, maybe the name Slime Quest will, a left field house duo in which Mamuka is one half. We’re joyed to see him carving out solo records and keeping Georgian club tracks very much alive and well.
[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/premiere-hamatsuki-rett” /] As a staple booking at Tbilisi’s largest tech club Bassiani, it’s hard to deny his prowess as both a DJ and music writer. Appearing on his most recent EP, “Remember” comes the A2, Rett, a pulsating breezy ride. Made up of elevated synth tones, sharp percussion and acidic drones this records born for concentration. Each element in the piece demands attention… I suggest if you’re deep in study or state of reflection, best cue Rett.
The ‘Remember’ EP is out now via popular Glaswegian (and Sub Club staple) party and revitalized imprint Sensu Glasgow. Sink in… Grab your copy via Juno.
