Release 004 on Twominds Records comes from Ōtautahi DJ and Producer Goose, with his sophomore EP, ‘Oasis in Space’. The four-track project takes listeners on a searching sonic journey. Intertwining 4×4 grooves, wandering basslines, and a harmonious blend of eastern, tribal, and organic influenced sounds, synths, and percussion. For Goose, this release represents a step out of the world of electro funk and disco, towards more organic soundscapes.
This is the first release for Goose since completing a Certificate in DJ and Electronic Music Production from MAINZ in 2022. During which time, he was performing throughout New Zealand at both club and festival shows including Twisted Frequency, Tora Bombora and Twominds Festival.
Goose held a weekly radio slot on Christchurch’s RDU 98.5FM, as well as working as part of Twominds collective creating dance music events and the debut Twominds Festival, which was held in February, 2023 at Spencer Beach Holiday Park. 2023 will see Goose make his international debut at Germany’s Mahagoni Festival before returning home for the kiwi summer circuit and to continue work on his own pop up takeover space and downtempo lounge; Fergs Emporium.
The Flutes lives up to its name – haunting, echoed out eastern flute samples and synths break up a bouncy bass and kick combo. Pushed along by a slightly more rigid drum track than the other songs.
