On October 22nd Bordello A Parigi is set to release the tenth volume of their acclaimed Riviera Disco compilations. Since 2014, the Amsterdam based label and store has used the series to consistently pump out electro infused Italo-Disco burners and is celebrating with their biggest release yet. Set across three 12” records, this 3xLP includes tracks from IAMNOTAROBOT, Anzano, Brian Ring and more with additional remixes from Salta & Roma.

The second side of the first disc closes with a tasty fusion of electro and Italo-Disco from Daniel Monaco & Don Voyage properly entitled “Tropical Disaster.” Both based in The Hague, the pair combine to produce a fitting first release as a duo which properly encapsulates their shared love of 80s synthesis and its neighbouring styles. While Don Voyage has been mainly focusing on mixes since his last release “A Midsummer Night’s Wave” in 2016, Daniel Monaco has continued teaching at Hanze University while experimenting and touring with his African electro-acid band Umeme.

“Tropical Disaster” is a perfect combination of these backgrounds and experimentations. With a driving beat emerging from psychedelic screeches at the start, the track rises with an ominous tone and falls into moody bridges as filtered Caribbean bells work their way into the mix. The compressed snares and toms cut through, using fills to lead into a lead arpeggio which carries out to the end of the track. Perfect for the end of an all day beach side party or the middle of a club set, “Tropical Disaster” binds disco, electro and small hints of acid to build a unique sound representative of the duo behind its creation.
