LA based producer and DJ Choopsie announces her new ‘Remembering EP’ on Silver Bear Recordings. Set for release on the 21st September with lead singles Remembering and Magnify dropping over the summer.
After falling in love with electronic music whilst interning at Outlook and Dimensions festival, Alex Adkins AKA Choopsie has been building an impressive discography of releases, inspired by the likes of Elkka and Logic1000. With previous outings on Fantastic Voyage and RVDIOVCTIVE, Choopsie’s ‘Remembering EP’ dives deeper into her introspective style, showcasing her ability to intricately weave together captivating chord progressions, vocal samples and synth lines. Since her debut EP release in 2020 she’s been on a roll, playing at the legendary Dirtybird campout, releasing 3 further EP’s and playing shows in LA, Denver, NYC and Paris, with additional sets in Europe this summer.
Lead single ‘Remembering’ kicks off the EP with dreamy pads crescendoing into a flurry of garage influenced drums and delicately chopped up vocal samples. Magnify is an immersive listen, showcasing Choopsie’s ability to create lush, blissful lead lines on a backdrop of deep groove ridden beats. Rune is a nostalgic infused track, featuring swirling pads and punchy breaksy drums, producing euphoric and atmospheric moments and Echoes closes the EP in style with rich textures created using bouncy synths and sultry arps.
Choopsie says “I made this EP last winter while visiting home in Virginia
and traveling around the east coast. Inspired to break out of my usual routine for making music, I challenged myself to make songs that were very different from my previous releases. I was really missing the music scene in LA and wanted to make something that I could play live when I returned, but that would also be suitable for listening at home.”
