bbsanii’s Paleta UFO evokes sun-drenched euphoria: a dreamy journey where sparkling textures and lush melodies meet rolling drum breaks and a groovy bassline. On her forthcoming Murciélago EP on Night Shop Records, bbsanii explores latinamerican, house and bass music with a distinct, modern fusion of sounds. Aptly named after the iconic Ecuadorian sweet treat, Paleta UFO is a lollipop dipped into sherbet — a nod to bbsanii’s upbringing between Otavalo and Naarm. They were a favourite of bbsanii’s who would buy them from corner stores in Ecuador during her childhood. A nostalgic reference that (coincidentally) fits seamlessly into the world of Night Shop: an ode to the playful hedonism of nightlife and the corner stores across the world that are so integral to local music communities.
