Match Box continue an unstoppable run of form. Following their X-Files 12” on Neptune Discs, they link with Amsterdam’s Mixolydian for a summer-closing split that marks their debut on the label. The record brings Mixolydian’s slick tech-house sensibility together with Match Box’s vibrant prog palette.
Played by Peach and Gabrielle Kwarteng during their b2b at Junction 2, the A1 pairs catchy vocal cuts with a relentless, festival-ready groove — while Bliss Inc. joins the ozone on remix duties on A2 with a heads-down, tunnelling dose of wormhole prog.
The B-side is built for movement. ‘Go’ locks shuffling hats, alien bleeps and whispered fragments into a restless club groove. The B2 is pure vortex prog: warm trance pads, a hypnotic inward pull and a huge, ecstatic breakbeat that arrives out of nowhere at the breakdown.
Four club tracks spanning vibrant prog and heads-down pressure. Limited edition 12” and digital.
