Stratocumulus: a cloud belonging to a genus-type characterized by large dark masses, usually in lines or waves, much like this melodic sub banger from London based artist, K-LONE. Keeping deep dark garage alive and at the forefront of the movement, K-LONE, producer and creator of Wisdom Teeth record label, throws out another sci-fi infused gem with the help of scrumptious delightful Bristol label, Banoffee Pies. This track comes as part of the Banoffee Pies Digi 05 compilation of records previously available on vinyl-only, a release full of treats from the likes of Jay Anderson, Crump and Gallegos!

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/premiere-k-lone-clouds” /]
Sophisticatedly distorted vocals crackling in, live percussion, signature hefty sub bass, clever snares and classic hi-hat rhythms; ‘Clouds’ is a 7 minute galactic odyssey that is seductive and unforgettable. The space is filled perfectly, every unique segment is used to create an intense scene. K-Lone, uses his refined production skills to echo the classic uplifting garage vibe, but ensures that you don’t float off too far, there is enough murkiness to lure you into the deepest darkest corners of the grimiest basements and warehouses. Imagine you are about to transcend up into the unknown but as you start to float earth-shaking bass keeps you skanking firmly on the ground. Like watching a storm from a balcony, this track is eventful and entirely gripping. K-Lone cleverly carves out an impressive bassy landscape somewhere between earth and space. Light airy synths swim beneath hard hitting thunderous beats, this track rumbles cracks, breaks and bangs.

Be sure to pre-order the digi EP here!

Although there are a lot of producers out there attempting to emulate the sound of 90s House, few are able to make it in a way that comes off as authentic. Luckily, the boys of LMYE do not have that issue judging from the upcoming release of their self-titled LP. Treading a line between classic house with a nod here and there to boogie and Latin freestyle, these Londoners produce a sound that makes one feel as if they’re in a time machine dancing their way through the illegal raves and warehouse parties that made the underground scene what it is today.

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/premiere-lmye-fashion” /]

To understand what I am talking about, all you have to do is take a listen to the track we’re fortunate enough to be sharing with you today – Fashion. Featuring an assortment of sampled UK garage vocals, 909 drums, and celestial synths, LMYE manages to deliver a tune that will overwhelm you with a powerful sense of nostalgia and eagerness to hear such a thumper out live. Having already earned the honor of their work being featured in the sets of Shanti Celeste and Ben UFO, we can only imagine that Fashion will become a staple among house-heads and DJs for months to come.

To get your hands on a copy and the other 9 tracks on the album, make sure to pre-order it right here!

They say consistency is key, and German imprint Toy Tonics, have it in spades. Since 2012, the label simply haven’t pressed a bad tune. Kickstarting things with scrumptious releases from the likes of Black Loops, COEO and Kapote, these Berlin blacksmiths are yet again chipping away at that next funked-out piece of audio, the world needs to hear. And today, it’s ‘Broken Dub’, from Lyon based artist, Mangabey (Jose Fehner).

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/premiere-mangabey-broken-dub” /]

With quite the nomadic past, spending his childhood living in caravans between France and Africa (his parents part of a wild theatre troupe), Jose has plenty of influences to draw upon. Having already a firm relationship with Toy Tonics, with the release of his ‘Chicago Memory’ EP a few months back (be sure to suss Folamour’s Remix of ‘GUFM’), the Frenchman comes storming through with the ‘Joy Kill’ EP.

‘The record press is a complicated piece of equipment weighing two tonne, it moulds records by compression…’ Welcome to the B1, Broken Dub. Breaks, compressed drums and West London ad-libs define the piece. A jazz pianist and vintage synth nut by trade, Mangabey brings real character to what’s a steady grind. This one sounds authentically UK, a familiar feel to Jamie XX’s ‘All Under One Roof Raving’. A track best heard in an underground carpark, in the dead of night…or wherever you like really. Oh…and Jose’s only just hit 22, already locking in Fouk and Glenn Astro on remix duties. Watch this space fam!

You can pre-order a copy of ‘Joy Kill’ by following this link right here!

Ahead of their 2018 tour, Melbourne natives 30/70 Collective have released their follow up remix EP entitled “Elevations”, showcasing their magnificent musical artistry. The EP itself is a well-constructed buzzing compilation of reimagined songs by the gifted quintet known for their jazz-infused, funk sound. The record is released on no other than Bradley Zero’s mighty Rhythm Section and it was only a matter of time until the label and blossoming man of the moment, Neue Grafik, joined forces once more. The MPC master, Neue Grafik, executes a crisp, garage- fused, break-beat sound, full of soul with a classic French house dance music flavour, with his remix of the bands 2017 track ‘Slangin‘.

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/3070-slangin-neue-grafik-rework” /]
Filling dance floors across continents, close friends Bradley Zero and Fred (Neue Grafik) have consistently devised and dispatched real electronic party music with a healthy serving of soul. Following his latest EP, “Innervision”, Neue Grafik takes this opportunity to showcase his effortless ability to make a track his very own, introducing a silky sultry Parisian chic vibe to the song. Grafik captivates us within the first few seconds of this track, with the smooth, enchanting, gradual build up of lo-fi sound mixed with hazy mysterious chattering vocals – you can’t help but lean in and listen, like a sexy stranger with a deep voice.

Slangin is an original blend of Hip-Hop, Broken Beat, Garage and French house, the atmosphere that comes with the track is pure nostalgia. The use of mesmerizing chords played off a Fender Rhodes and catchy two-step beat takes us back to the good old Garage days whilst pushing us into a totally new plain of music that really wraps itself around you. Always bringing something new to our ears, Neue Grafik is unmistakably one to watch as we look forward to his next contribution! Pre-order your copy here.https://youtu.be/cFBIckStd9c

Drifting somewhere in space between r&b, jazz and garage, William Florelle’s (soundcloud) 7 track debut EP Two & Three journeys through the sonic cosmos with gritty and distorted rhodes loops, soulful fragments and dreamlike garage vocals transcending genre strict 4×4 formats. Florelle goes beyond traditional dance rituals to fathom a truly original EP. Label WotNot previously enlisted K15 and Glenn Astro for artist Eps and Florelle joins illustrious company in fine form.

We’re delighted to share Atlanta’s Stefan Ringer’s remix, a shuffling percussive groove that centers around Lua’s sumptuous vocals and hoarse broken chords which zone in and out throughout as the bass stutters in the spaces between.
