Fixed Rhythms releases a masterpiece double LP by Texas techno young star, Decoder aka Gautham Garg. Fixed Rhythms previously released a 12” EP entitled “Boulder” under his ‘Cratan’ alias in 2021, and copies zipped out the door.

Decoder, is a Dallas based producer and DJ specialising in the realm of sci-fi and deep techno. His music personifies his forward thinking ideas as well as his cultural roots, making for a blend of retro-futuristic soundscapes and experimental shades of electronic music.

In early March 2021, Decoder witnessed the inception of his debut release, “The Futurist,” brought to life by the Italian label Antiterra. Following this EP, a consistent stream of releases ensued, with Decoder contributing to labels such as Bomphcast, Srie Records, and his own imprint, Codec Recordings.

The same year marked the unveiling of his inaugural album, “Monolithic Activity Spectrum,” released under the Spanish label Subsist. Closing out the year, Decoder presented his second album, “Dark Shape,” released on Jeff Mills’ renowned Axis imprint. The momentum carried into the first half of 2022, with Decoder’s “Moro Safa EP” hitting the shelves under the Amsterdam-based label Float Records. Additionally, this period saw the release of his third full-length album, “Plurality Module,” on Subsist, along with a subsequent offering on Float Records titled “Kanavugal.”

These releases have also garnered support from many artists including the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Jeroen Search, and TWR72, to name a few. Decoder’s touring schedule has also seen notable moments, including shows played at notable clubs & parties such as De School, Fold, Cialo.

His eight-track album on Fixed Rhythms consists of hypnotic, bendy techno, with a C1 electro switch-up. You’re instantly transported to the depths of the cosmos within your mind on the first needle drop. An album for all moments of the deep dance, with a D2 that ends the double LP with a powerfully optimistic sonic statement.

Decoder’s ‘Ghanaprajna’ LP is out via Fixed Rhythms on 14th March 2024 (Bandcamp/Nina Protocol) and 12th April 2024 (All Stores).

Jackson Ryland comes in focused and ecstatic with his first vinyl release under his technoid alias JR2K. Jackson is based in Washington DC as one-half of both Superabundance and Rush Plus. He’s recently released on Peach Discs and Pleasant Life, showcasing his knack for presenting energy as a delicacy. JR2K “Walking Backward” is another illustrious highlight in the savvy DC producer’s already-accomplished underground career. Supported by Kush Jones, Peach, Ciel, Clarisa Kimskii, Ryan Elliott, CMD, Davis Galvin, livwutang, Furtive, Golden Medusa, Lychee, Miley Serious, and JiaLing!

The A side opens up whooshy and hard with “ExoGeni Approach”. This illustrates perfectly what I love about Jackson’s style(s)…it sounds like the sickest mid-90s techno track, full of energy and movement while taking in the atmosphere with repose. After the rollercoaster intro, the acidic up-ticks, lush synth layering, and perfectly crunchy closed-hats sink your ass straight through the dance-floor to tumbling free-for-all in the green-screen collage of your daydreams. Wake up…A2 “Call Back” splashes you with a glass of refreshing water…you still got hours at the party, and you’re coming up on some healthE shit…time to get back to that business of dancing your soles and soul away to this driving monorail of euphoric acidic techno. Choo choo choose your own dance destiny, baby!

Don’t expect too much of a breather on the B-side though. “Sun Anthem” brings the solar modular beams on top of a delightfully delayed kick with swinging hats. Sounds like funky lasers, if light had mass and it could creep into your skull and massage the worries right out of your brain folds. The record ends with the titular track blooping, stomping, and clapping all over the dance floor. The end shows just how much of an auteur Jackson is, how he can put his special, funky je ne sais quoi on dance music that will shake you down hard and fast. All four tracks have something unique, but they all proudly say that dance music can be simultaneously defiant and sophisticated, banging and subtle. Cop this slab–don’t sleep!

She has released on JACKTONE, EXPERIMENTAL HOUSEWIFE’S PERFECT LOCATION RECORDS, FUR TRADE RECORDINGS, and BASIC_SOUNDS. For her vinyl debut, “Social Factory Reset”, she brings us four entrancing, slightly dubby and acidic techno dance floor cuts perfect for the smooth edges of the late night.

The A-side opens up with the title track “Social Factory Reset”, modular jacking techno with an infectious acid swell and patient pads. “Shaping Inner Space” is an apt title. The tempo is slightly faster than A1, and it sounds like an extraterrestrial night out. Euphoric synth twists bring in the break while the bass drum toys with the rhythm only to zap it back home with the force of cosmic gravity.

“Dream-Life Cycles” opens up the B-side tough, with an acid line and bass drum syncopation sure to bring out the stomp. Modular tweets fire off in stereo; harmonic pads bring in the harmony; and a nuanced and pleasantly surprising vocal line brings the euphoria on home. “Body Locked” closes the EP with an athletic, cosmic techno track that doesn’t shy away from the trance palette. Step out of your body and onto the dance floor!

CMD “Social Factory Reset” drops on Fixed Rhythms December 10th!

For this new 12″ on Fixed Rhythms, he delivers a balmy 4 track EP, simultaneously full of longing, bliss, and hope. Adeptly oscillating between techno and house, these ear-worm, tastefully catchy tracks will find themselves perfectly at home both on reopened, outdoor summer dance floors as well as on bedroom stereo systems. If you do find yourself on a reopened dance floor, you may end up shedding a joyful tear to one of these tracks.

“Hope This Year” has a bassline that could roll forever. Soaring synths, a tastefully intricate acid line, claps, and syncopated hi-hats. It’s fresh, but with an old-school house swagger. “Latin Class” cruises through outer space at light-speed right out the gate. Some definite Eurodisco influence can be heard on this one just as much as classic house and techno. Lots of spacey panning, perfect for the late night aural trip.

Flip to the B-side. “Ataraxy” has a funky and stabbing bass line, panned synth pings, dubby hi-hats, delayed-out pads and cosmic modular bursts. Spacey and jacky house at its finest. “People Are All That We Have” closes out the EP with a longer, heady, sensitive, emotional, beautiful journey of a track. Fitting anywhere nicely in a set, this one will definitely bring out the hugs on the dancefloor.

“People Are All That We Have” drops Friday, June 11th on Fixed Rhythms. Limited edition of 300 copies on black vinyl.
