Ari Bald, who made a name for himself putting out sample-based disco cuts, had announced a while back that he’d be focusing more on the analog side of music production in his coming releases. The first evidence of that was on the debut VA from Haŵs entitled Haŵs Party Vol. 1. Now he’s following it up with a full EP of analog-style deep house for the same label. The four track EP is called Pesce after the opening track and it is packed with 80’s style drum machines, lush pads, italo-style arpeggios and more.

Our premiere today is the closing track, Umberto Arpeggio, and it definitely focuses on the latter both in name and execution. A functional italo-style track, it’s built around the bubbly bass-line and bright synth lead. Moody deep pads come into the fold for some nice contrast while the development is carried in part by the drum machine work and the filter cutoff on the synths which creates the slow building tension. The rest of the EP is well rounded with the breakbeat and electro-inspired Sunday Wool, 80’s influenced Pesce, and the hybrid jam, Club Contradictory. Overall, it’s a good release to have in your collection that you can pull out on a number of occasions.Be sure to support the label directly via their Bandcamp as the release is out next week!

Just a few weeks ago, the Bolting Bits team was quite proud in sharing a brand, new original from our very own – Igor Bezuglov. However, Igor is not the only member who has been producing as of late. In fact, our very own Martin Miguel is set to come out with his first original later this week!

Mainly known for his work as the head honcho at Better Listen Records, Martin has decided to collaborate with one of his closest friends and label artists Ari Bald to deliver a fresh little ditty titled Every Body Party on New York City imprint Kaviar Disco Club. This track will be featured alongside other rising producers such as Jevantte, Tilman, and Higgins to round out the second release from the young label.

Much like the music Martin promotes on his own label and DJ sets, Every Body Party is an all-out, daytime disco affair that relies on an assortment of rich horns, guitar licks, and dancefloor percussion to create a vibe that’s easy-going and pleasing to the ear. Although the occasion for summertime disco is certainly waning in the Northern Hemisphere, expect this one to be played wherever there are cocktails in-hand and good times to be had.

One unique string to Blaq Numbers bow is the unique Blaq Bunch series with Volume 1 a huge success, Volume 2 is hot on its heels and promises to be one to remember. One artist in particular we always enjoy listening to is Ari Bald with previous releases on some of our favourite labels such as Let’s Play House and Better Listen Records it’s easy to see why. He comes up strong yet again for the Blaq Numbers Vol.2 with the 8th track on the A-side track, Timber. Strong 80s pads and fluttering keys staple the sound of this track, creating a lush rhythmic masterpiece to add a unique direction to the VA. Better Listen Records is a label that needs no introduction, straight out of Washington DC, BLR has put out some breath-taking music from some of the biggest names in house and disco with Cody Currie, Ethyène and Ari Bald to name a few. With a motto to “press remarkable grooves” they certainly exceed this with each and every release, and have come a long way since establishing in 2016 no thanks to some great work from Martín Miguel.

BLRVA001 is next up on releases for Better Listen with the First Class a varied artist EP with quite possibly four of the most talented artists in the game; Folamour, Ethyène, Ari Bald and Dorsi Plantar. The first track comes from the magical and magnificent Folamour with ‘Oneness’ a beautiful piece of art in which we have the pleasure to premiere for you today. The most consistent artist in his field Folamour never fails to amaze with his music which to quote his label is, ‘’For Heaven Use Only’’. There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how good the Frenchman actually is and this track follows suit. Sweet guitars, addictive piano melodies and jazz-infused goodness with this one, things Folamour is well-known for. A true feel good banger that will have you singing along and dancing all day and all night. Let’s face it Better Listen and Folamour was always going to end well and we cannot wait to grab a copy of this 12”. Out on april 20th via Juno!
