After a decade of shaping their deeply emotive sound and becoming mainstays of Ireland’s club and festival circuit with standout performances at AVA Festival, All Together Now, and Electric Picnic, Dublin-based duo Long Island Sound celebrates a pivotal milestone with their first major album, Hydra, on Seb Wildblood’s esteemed label, all my thoughts. Known for their broad emotional palette and sophisticated sound design, Rob Roche and Tim Nolan have also built a reputation for their captivating DJ sets, gaining acclaim with performances in internationally renowned clubs such as London’s fabric and Berlin’s Watergate. With coverage from leading music publications like Resident Advisor, Mixmag and DJ Mag praising their work, they explore esoteric themes throughout this stunning body of work, channeling a range of powerful emotions that echo through each track.

Hydra bursts into life with “As One,” a bold opener that sets a solid, commanding tone with metallic slicing arps and swirling, dynamic textures. Next, “Anchor” lays down a clear sonic intention for the album, drawing listeners into a beautifully constructed state of flux, driven by rising chords and mounting tension that keeps you suspended in its grasp.

In “Full Effect,” the duo introduces a hypnotic, ping-ponging synth line that pans beautifully across the soundscape, with swathes of pads and sheets of noise creating a layered foundation for a delicate plucking melody and ethereal vocals. Further vocal prominence emerges in the anthemic “Terra Nova,” a piece filled with atmospheric detail where tastefully washed-out vocals evoke an arcane yet hopeful feeling.

Roche and Nolan’s carefully crafted sound shines in the cinematic interlude “Adrenaline,” where CMI-style synth vocal one-shots fizz alongside softly detuned flutters. “Warsaw” follows, standing out as an infectious, earworm-laden cut where synthesized vocals meld seamlessly with an analogue bass, and a brooding synth hook dances over rattling percussion.

“Searching” takes a turn into a shimmering synth line that cascades into layers of emotive pads, building anticipation before the distinctive vocal emerges. “Timelapse” brings a silky flange skipping over a precise kick and snare, building to a crescendo of resonant synths, vocals, and detuned effects. Tugging at deeper emotional strings, “Curved Air” maintains the album’s weight with a blissful pad circling a glimmering melody.

Balancing deep emotional resonance with dancefloor energy, the vocal-led “Mira” closes out the album, delicately navigating quick shifts from melancholia to euphoria. As Hydra unfolds, it opens a deeply introspective realm filled with aqueous sound design and thoughtfully defined melodies—a true testament to Long Island Sound’s mastery of their craft.

Marking the release of Hydra, Long Island Sound will perform their debut live show in Dublin, with more dates soon to follow, aiming to bring the album’s rich textures into a live setting.

From the first drops of French Touch to the explorations of Midwest Rave, Queens-born, Chicago based producer & DJ Aguila molds their influences into a liquid groove.

With humble beginnings during their sophomore year of high school, Lázaro Aguilar quitely learned their trade of production and running raves at an early age. With a string of self-releases, they quickly turned heads in the international scene with the support & mentorship of well-respected DJs. Following a brief stint with cancer, Lázaro brushed up on their engineering skills and headed for Chicago to fully immerse themselves in the city’s nightlife.

It was while interning at Chicago’s very own smartbar where they continued to develop their knack for running undergrounds. Helping co-found and run Support System Sound, a series of loft parties built on the ethos of Midwest Rave & David Mancuso’s legendary Loft, they honed their crafts as a DJ during longform sets. As a collective, Support System lasted from 2017–2019, ending in a 34 hour loft party with over 30+ artists.

Not shying away from production duties, Lázaro continued to self-release under their new label The People’s Bureau of Ignorance. Catching the ear of Lobster Theremin’s Jimmy Asquith, they released 2019’s trance-tinged smash, The Club On 27th West, paying homage to New York’s Twilo. With recent releases on Seb Wildblood’s all my thoughts & Holly Lester’s Duality Trax, Lázaro seeks to build upon the legacy of Midwestern Dance Music.

Gothenburg based producer Ebende returns to Seb Wildblood’s all my thoughts imprint with an incredible full-length debut album ‘Skimmer’.

Ebende’s multifaceted sound developed from a life of music. His multi-instrumentalist father had introduced him to musical instruments such as piano, guitar, bongos and timbales. After discovering a clear understanding of rhythm & harmony throughout childhood, Ebende set his sights on music production as a teenager. To date, Ebende has put out a string of self-releases, and two impressive records on fellow Gothenburg label Aniara to name a few. However, there is no question that ‘Skimmer’ highlights the major strides Ebende has made in fine-tuning his craft.

His distinct style is characterized by captivating soundscapes, driving, intricate rhythm & an emphasis on soulful, lush harmonies, which has gained substantial support from artists and peers such as Andrey Pushkarev, Peggy Gou & Ryan Elliott.

The album opens with ‘Shift’, a hazy and dubbed-out introduction to what could be Ebende’s best work yet. The kick begins cutting through a soundscape that is drenched in mesmerizing, otherworldly synths, dubby chords. All before being introduced to a healthy dose of low end and a mind soothing, smoked-out guitar riff that hints at Balearic influences. The opening track sets the stage for what is an excellent full-length album, whether you listen on a dancefloor or at home. The future is bright for Ebende!

Ebende’s debut album ‘Skimmer’ is out everywhere, March 12.

Curated by Seb Wildblood – all my thoughts – volume one, is a sonic snapshot of where the imprint is currently at and the direction it’s heading in, featuring several key label artists and welcoming a bunch of new artists to the label including the likes of Project Runaway, Jenifa Mayanja, Closet Yi, Ouri, Aguila & more……….First up is Gothenburg based Ebende with downtempo excursion ‘Road Trip’, before emerging Seoul producer Closet Yi’s ambient cut ‘Bird Emporium’. New all my thoughts signee Mauv is up next with a new track entitled ‘Middle Man’, featuring Mauv’s distinctive vocals alongside an electronica-tinged, post-punk riff. Olsen ups the tempo with the upbeat, breaksy ‘Radient Omen’, before an infectious percussive number from Israel duo Project Runaway entitled ‘Export City’. Bumako Recordings head honcho Jenifa Mayanja steps up next with ‘Inbetween’, showcasing her distinctive sound which has earned her the title of ‘the First Lady of deep house’ setting the tone for Parisian producer Aleqs Notal’s smooth cut ‘Numa’.

Stepping up after is all my thoughts mainstay Tom VR, with his trademark style on full display in ’The Gradual Change’, before Montreal based artist Ouri’s ‘Gay Sound’ brings forward a sound drawing inspiration from the post-dubstep era. Aguila’s euphoric house cut ‘For Small Rooms’ creates a warm nostalgia reminiscent of the dance floor, before San Francisco based CM-4’s jungle influenced ‘Heil Coil’ drives the tempo up further. label alumni U-I is up next with spacey, atmospheric cut ‘WTF’, before Valya Kan’s ‘Ice Birds’ mellows the tone with soothing melodies and comforting notes. The penultimate track ‘Last Summer Sunday Ambience’ from German duo Rossum Universal Tracks is an ethereal, astronomic cut – an ambient soundscape that takes the listener orbiting through space. Closing the compilation is label head Seb Wildblood & Queens’ artist Deem Spencer’s first collaboration together, a track combining Seb Wildblood’s dreamy production alongside Deem Spencer’s melancholic lyrics and distinguishing style entitled ‘Take Your Time’.

Born in Adelaide Australia, DJ Heure grew up a long way from the main hubs of house music but this has not stopped him carving out a place amongst some of the finest low-fi, deep house DJs on the scene. With releases on London label Distant Hawaii and Brooklyn’s Let’s play House it is clear to see that this young man is gaining much deserved recognition. His Adelaian sound has travelled across the oceans receiving much love and support worldwide. We caught up with the ‘Eastbound’ artist ahead of his Let’s Play House gig in New York…

Australia is a country known for its beaches, surfers, indigenous wildlife and the outback. Where did the influence to create house and garage music come from?
I think for Adelaide in particular there was a lot of influence coming from Chicago in the 90s so perhaps that’s where it started. But other than that obviously the internet drives that quite a lot now.

Heure means hour in French. Why French?
I was trying to jump on the DJ *word* hype back when I thought it was cool. Just wanted any word really and my girlfriend (who is part French) just came up with it. People seem to like it so why not haha

What music were you listening to in your early teens?
Electro house, blog house and stuff. Indie rock. Probably wouldn’t listen to any of it now.

Can you play any instruments?
Not at all, just like to spam out on the keys sometimes and take whatever sounds good.

If you could take a record with you to a isolated location in Australia, which would it be and where would you go?
Hmm, maybe Domenique Dumont – Comme Ca to a nice secluded beach.

Your latest mixes have been awesome, playing a lot of summer tracks. What has been your favorite Summer gig so far?
I played a cool outdoor party in Bondi last year, which was really fun. As for the club, when Urulu came to Adelaide, I warmed up for him and we got to go back to back for a couple hours to a packed out, sweaty joint. That was real good.

Three tracks that you’re currently rinsing?
Just picked three songs that came to mind that I really enjoy, I rinse a lot of tunes :)

Have you seen a change in Australia’s music scene, since you began your career?
Absolutely. The younger heads are getting really keen so there’s always a lot of support in the scene. Maybe a few years ago you’d struggle to pull interest for a show you’re throwing but nowadays it’s a bit better. I’ve just moved from Adelaide to Melbourne so still observing the differences between the two scenes.

You have support from the likes of Loz Goddard, Banoffee Pies, and Church Label. Do you spend much time in the UK?
I don’t spend a lot of time there but I’ve been in contact with a lot of people from there and put out majority of my music on UK labels. Not sure why its happened like that but its been good. I’d love to do more in Australia with the people around me as I feel there’s almost a bit of a disconnect if I play shows here but never release music with anyone.

Lastly, who would you like to collaborate with in the future?
I really dig a guy called Will Lister from London. I’d also like to make more music with my friends Arthur Miles and Freddie Norwood.

Seb Wildblood’s third and youngest brainchild, All My Thoughts, gets ready for its 5th artist EP and 7th release overall to drop. Established just over a year ago, the label was meant to be a platform to showcase the deeper leanings of Wildblood’s musical palate. One calendar year later and seven releases in, two of which were full length albums released on cassettes, it’s clear that the Church head honcho has another successful imprint on his hands. With a fairly coherent sound that ranges from ambient leanings to more late night, analog jams, the distinction from its older sister labels couldn’t be clearer, establishing All My Thoughts as a prime hub for talent largely unconnected, at least in terms of sound, to its older siblings.[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/secret-lover-far-off”]Next up on the docket is Secret Lover‘s (soundcloud) “Lost & Found” EP. The Vancouver-based producer, DJ and commander-in-chief of Western Canada’s vinyl staple, Heart To Heart, delivers three original tracks alongside a remix from fellow Vancouverite, Khotin, an assortment that finds itself comfortably snug in the AMT aesthetic. Our premiere today is the A1 and original mix of Far Off. Featuring sparsely populated, pleasant chords and a lighthearted keyboard melody, this number is a slowly developing journey. Pairing the melodic elements with a buoyant, rubbery bassline and simple yet groovy percussion, Secret Lover manages to deliver a piece that makes you want to meander through the scenic backdrop of the Canadian rockies. The rest of the EP is worth a good listen too, but we won’t spoil it. You should get your hands on a copy and do your own due diligence over at the All My Thoughts Bandcamp page.

South London is a creative hub that’s been spitting out talent for years. Seb Wildblood (soundcloud) is a product of this bubble and may even be considered a pioneer, as his Church party series and record label were established back in 2012. As someone who loves discovering new music, one record label was obviously not enough. Last year, Wildblood established the Coastal Haze imprint alongside good friend and fellow DJ, Hollick, with a focus on full length cassette tapes. Even more recently, Seb launched another project called All My Thoughts and it has seen it’s first three releases already.

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/mixed-by-seb-wildblood”/]

Outside of his phenomenal knack for being able to find music from emerging as well as established artists, Seb Wildblood has made quite a name for himself on the production front as well. With a number of EPs and singles released over the last several years, Seb’s managed to craft a distinctive, moody, percussive sound that has caught the ears of many a listener and DJ alike. Last year’s ‘Jazz Vol.1′ EP on Church really catapulted him into the spotlight and he’s managed to go from strength to strength, recently releasing the spectacular ‘:~^’ mini-LP on Omena.

We managed to catch up with the busy man of the moment and ask him some questions for the latest instalment of our MIXED BY/ series. Read the full interview below:

INTERVIEW

You run three record labels: Church, Coastal Haze and All My Thoughts as well as self-release music from time to time. How do you manage your time? You must be pretty busy in between running the labels, touring and producing your own material.

I think when you’re doing something you love, you just make time. Nothing feels like a chore. If I’m feeling creative I’ll head into the studio. If not, I’ll maybe focus on some label bits. I’m constantly digging so finding music to release is the most natural part of the whole process. Currently, I can’t tour enough, I love it. This job is sometimes very insular, having the chance to get on the road feels real as you’re connecting directly with the audience you generally only perceive through a computer screen day to day.

All My Thoughts is your newest project. What prompted you to start yet another label and what’s the inspiration behind this one?

For me, Church has a very distinct sound that almost goes without saying. However I wanted to break the boundaries I’m working within. I guess if you wanted to put it in a box, AMT is deeper, maybe more heads down business at times, and also a chance to explore some more ambient textures. There will also naturally be cross over here and there. Next up is a downtempo LP by an artist called U-I. I’m really excited to work with him, a completely new untapped / unheard talent from Germany.

The South London scene lends the impression that it is a constantly growing, very close-knit community of labels, artists, shops, radio stations and peers where everyone seems to know and support each other. How much of your success as an artist and label would you attribute to your surroundings?

Peckham in particular is special for that reason. London’s a big city with a lot of strangers but Peckham’s a whole different bubble. You could head out on a Friday evening by yourself and be sure to bump into friendly faces. Staples such as Rhythm Section, YAM, Balamii and Rye Wax encapsulate this. In terms of how this relates to my success as an artist I’m not sure, I think this is something only someone with an outside perspective could answer…

How do you go about finding new music to release? I assume your current release schedule is filled to the brim even with three different labels to supply us with new music?

I’m constantly exploring. The majority of stuff that’s signed is found. There’s a lot of great stuff being sent in however I need that personal connection with an artist. Sometimes you can hear it through the music right away and other times you’ll meet, get on and work towards something. There’s no set formulas and I’m often surprised.

Are there any artists whose music you passed on in the past that you maybe regret not releasing? Who are some artists that you’re currently really enjoying?

I wouldn’t say so, I’m always eager to make it work one way or another, hence the three labels. If I’m into something, odds are it could fit on one of the three. Some artists I’m really digging that aren’t on the labels… Peach, Telfort, Jon Sable, Tell, Khotin & Sofatalk.

It seems like you’ve managed to find your sound fairly quickly, in relative terms. The moods conveyed in your music as well as the percussion tend to make your productions easily distinguishable as Seb Wildblood material. What does your creation process generally entail? Do you usually come to the table with an idea in mind?

Thanks! To be honest I don’t see myself as a great musician or producer. I have ideas, and I think that’s what counts. I remember when I first starting making stuff on my own, I was just so hungry to do it so I made it happen. I also can’t sit down and make a track based on functionality. As cliche as it sounds, it needs to come from a place within. I guess you could say I try and communicate through my music by creating a feeling or a mood.

What kind of gear do you use? There seems to be a lot of organic sounds. Do you play and record the percussion and instrumentation yourself? How much do you tend to sample?

Over the years I’ve had loads of different bits. The last few records have been made with a Juno 106, Casio CZ50000 and a bunch of crappy keyboards. Also a couple of drum machines and lots of sampling. I’m currently working with a lot more live instrumentation so that’s the next step for me.

Finally, with so many projects ongoing at the same time, we have to ask if you can share any forthcoming details with us regarding upcoming releases, tour dates, etc.?

Timely question, there’s a bunch of stuff ready to pop…

Laurence Guy LP (Church)

Folamour EP (Church)

FYI Chris EP (Church)

U-I LP (All My Thoughts)

Coastal Haze is now distro’d by Clone in Rotterdam with all tapes being pressed :~) plus some original heat going straight to wax, watch out for the HAZE’s!

+ a remix package of both my Omena LP & Jazz Vol.1. Some of my favourite producers involved with these so super excited about them!
