PREMIERE: Tilman & Soutine – Faded Vibrations [fine]

Tilman & Soutine - Fine 04

Mainz based producer/DJ Tilman (soundcloud) is no stranger to collaborative projects – since 2014 he has put out EPs with like-minded house producers such as Florian (Florist) and Johannes Albert, and has a split EP, VA contribution and full length under his belt, in addition to running two labels. His latest work marks the fourth release on his label Fine, whose minimalist aesthetic appeals to classic house sounds with modern tune-ups.

A collaboration with Florence-based Soutine (a member of the Italian house/techno group The Clover), the ‘One Day Off’ EP continues the infectious style of the first three Fine releases from Tilman and J. Albert. Crisp 909s, euphoric chords, jagged bass lines, and just enough vocal chops define the release, and any one of the four tracks will undoubtedly revitalize many a dancefloor.

We have the privilege of premiering the EPs closer, “Faded Vibrations”, a lovely house tune whose jovial, jacking style is suitable for big and small clubs alike. Despite the heavy use of major chords throughout, it manages to maintain the dopamine-rushing, warm house sound without excess cheese, and just enough acid – a fine sound indeed. The “One Day Off” EP continues Fine’s streak of hot releases and should convince house DJs around the world to keep an eye out on the label’s future output, and to explore the past work of Tilman and Soutine.

Stream “Faded Vibrations” below, and be sure to pick up the vinyl when you can – in the meantime we’ll definitely be slamming this track on our workdays as well as our days off.
