This is a special one, and not just because of the rich spectrum of sound that is showcased on this release, but also for the stance the artists participating in this release take in front of intolerance and ignorance.

Following Bandcamp’s announcement that they will be donating all their profits from Friday, August 4th 2017 to the Oakland-based Transgender Law Center (an organization that works tirelessly to change law, policy, and culture for the more equitable), Berlin via California-based Urulu and friends collaborated with similar intent in releasing a compilation entitled “Capacity of Color”. All additional proceeds generated from this release will be donated to the Transgender Law Center and American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

“Capacity of Color” is a title that speaks volumes about the beliefs and ideas represented by this release, which is also reflected in the mosaic of sounds this compilation offers to its listeners. The tracks featured on the compilation offer an interesting exploration into the diversity of sounds and rhythms. With an impressive lineup of names collaborating on this one (Seb Wildblood, Huerta, Mculo, Garrett David & Adam Rowe aka Bell Boys, Cromie, Flora FM, and Urulu himself), this compilation is one that will hopefully draw more attention to the many issues facing the fight for transgender rights.

 Today, we’re premiering Mculo’s contribution to the release, titled ‘Amandla’. The German , who’s moniker in Zulu means ‘music’, remains true to his sound and provides us with a soft synth lead melody, accompanied by a similarly gentle combo of bass and bongo. The entirety of the track seems to be inviting listeners to take a little introspective journey and bask in the setting for which the track can be thoroughly enjoyed.
