“We’ve been huge fans of Pacific Coliseum for a long time, so we’re very proud to present an EP with him on SB and who better to introduce the release than the man from Vancouver himself… ‘After four years, it feels amazing to return to my Pacific Coliseum project with the Breeze FM EP. This record came together in a really beautiful, collaborative way, between myself and the SlothBoogie crew. I sent over a handful of demos, and together we compiled and developed this record, which feels both fresh and true to the sound of my previous releases.

I wanted to have the record bounce around a bit in terms of tempos and feels: Wine Host has a nice sunset, downtempo feel; Breeze FM taps into a deeper, jazzier sound; Feel Free is a peak time Italo jam. Something for everyone! The whole thing is rounded off with Tech Support’s remix of Feel Free, which re-imagines the tune as an electro stomper. I’ve got a lot planned for this project in the year to come, and this feels like the perfect way to reintroduce myself to people.”

Blaq Numbers have been diggin’ for diamonds in the dirt since their founding in 2015 and what a great team of diggers they are. The German-based label have went from strength-to-strength these past 3 years and show no signs of slowing down. Releasing across all formats being digital, vinyl or tape – Blaq numbers have done it and with fine finesse. Several successful EP releases with premiered from some big channels. One unique string to Blaq Numbers bow is the unique Blaq Bunch series with Volume 1 a huge success, Volume 2 is hot on its heels and promises to be one to remember. One release featuring 20 different artists each bringing something unique to the table Tech Support, Jon Gravy, Slamb, Roman Rauch and Ari Bald are just a few pickings of the wealth of talent on the release. Any cassette heads reading this one’s for you also, you can pick up a tape from August 9th.

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/premiere-ari-bald-timber” /]
One artist in particular we always enjoy listening to is Ari Bald with previous releases on some of our favourite labels such as Let’s Play House and Better Listen Records it’s easy to see why. He comes up strong yet again for the Blaq Numbers Vol.2 with the 8th track on the A-side track, Timber. Strong 80s pads and fluttering keys staple the sound of this track, creating a lush rhythmic masterpiece to add a unique direction to the VA. BLAQTAPES004 is available from August 9th, head over to their Bandcamp page to pick it up.

Straight out of Poland, label boss Marcin Krupa has created a great vibe around this vinyl-only outfit. Other than the high quality of music they put out, the artwork to each and every release also matches that high standard. An attractive trait of the label is the diversity of genres they are home to. ASTR001 consisted of some amazing electronic sounds, an EP we definitely recommend checking out! Then, ASTR003 saw some Hip-Hop flavour introduced to the catalog, along with deep house vibes that then followed into the next release. Which now brings us to ASTR006 with the sound that everyone loves, disco house.

Brand new material coming out of Astropical Tapes in the form of ‘Spring Edits EP’ from disco house up-and-coming star Tech Support (soundcloud). This vinyl will be a hot release with only limited copies being made available. The EP contains 4 wonderfully produced disco edits ranging from smooth groovers to dancefloor thumpers. Today we have the pleasure in premiering the first track on the release, ‘Taking It Back’. We always enjoy listening to Tech Support’s signature percussive drums and this is where this great track starts off, before that beautiful classic disco sample starts to filter into our ears. The bells and stabs floating around give the track great warmth, width and perfectly compliment Air Power’s soft vocals as they cut through the mix. But perhaps the most satisfying thing about this piece of music is the divine cinematic strings that uplift the whole song.

NYC party boiiiiiiz Homage first foray into the label game comes via a four track EP from Brighton-based disco producer Tech Support – who, with no discography to his name aside from a couple self-released EPs on Bandcamp, is also essentially making his debut here. The Tech Support formula – as is displayed on this EP – combines bangin’ and funky percussion with classic discoboogie flavors to craft modern midtempo edits that are nicely beefed up for the dancefloor. And with that introduction, let’s take a gander at Inside Out.

“Feel It”, which is our premiere for today and sits in the A1 slot of the record, employs those beefy beats mentioned earlier to start things off. A thick kick/clap combo adorned by tasty auxillary percussion builds and breaks (with birds chirping in the background) before being joined by the glorious horn section of the main course. The arrangement loops a nice little boogie lick; mean bassline, sweet guitars and a fluttering synthesizer stab included. Next thing you know, the vocals are joining the party. It’s a clever little cut that extends the most savory components of the original into an extended, midtempo disco joint that could sit with ease in a housier set.

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/premiere-tech-support-feel-it”/]

Accompanying the lead track is a grip of three more cuts of disco house sleaze, which will surely be revealed by other outlets in the coming weeks. Inside Out is a nice little introduction to both parties involved. Tech Support blends the boundaries between disco edits and more nu disco/indie dance production here, combining both heavy sampling as well as his own hardware work. Meanwhile, Homage gives us a taste of what’s to come from the label – party rockin’ sample based cuts and edits designed for the New York dancefloor. The Inside Out EP is due out in the coming months and will be available on vinyl and digital formats.
