Having started their musical journey in 2016 with an eponymous YouTube channel where they would share cuts from their record collections, Norm and Simon quickly began introducing a swing of previously unnoticed and favorite titles to a wider audience.

In 2019, the pair launched the Native Dance label, distributed through Early Distro and Rush Hour. Their debut release, which quickly sold out, showcased low-slung street soul, 90s digi-afro, and zouk, featuring notable contributions from Venezuelan digger-extraordinaire Trujillo and Russian wizard Beard in Dust. Following this strong introduction, the second volume solidified Bayetë’s reputation as widely recognized DJs and selectors, delivering four dancefloor-ready edits that merged luscious chanson, quirky downtempo, and sun-soaked Italo-pop, crafted with the help of close friends and local producers.

They are back in 2025 with their third release, “Rumo Immaginari 01.” Going fully digital, this first sampler features four club cuts shaped with the help of esteemed producer friends, drifting towards 90s dancefloor edges with ethereal synths, Italian house influences, and offbeat pop.

Here is “Fashion Love,” edited by the power duo Roughly Norm & Sorta Sean. This sophisticated and offbeat 1990 song highlights all the elements they cherish in pop music: a strong hook, a laidback flow, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and synthetic arrangements. Originally released on CD, it cruelly lacked loudness and a proper drum machine to meet today’s club standards. The structure was also rethought, removing overloaded corniness in parts.
