Hiding under the clever 2XM moniker, Liam and Ben Murray have delivered a number of stellar releases on the likes of Slothboogie, Dream Raw and Crooked Lidz among others.  Even though the Murrays are based at the opposite corners of the Earth right now, distance doesn’t seem to be an issue, as their signature lush and jazzy sound has made them one of our personal favourites here at Bolting Bits.

The German blaq numbers imprint was quick to recruit the brothers from another mother and the result is great – not that we would expect anything less. The Astral Lakes EP features five original tracks from 2XM, plus two excellent remixes, courtesy of DJ Psychiatre and Explorer of the Humankind, who take the BPM up a notch.

From emotional cuts like Orien to true dancefloor bombs in the form of You, Astral Lakes is a true journey with Liam and Ben behind the steering wheel. For our premiere we picked a curious little cut, dubbed The Power. Even though it starts blissfully, the track grows by slowly but surely, with the help of carefully layered warm organic sounds and textures. However, it is the summery and euphoric vocal that grants it the true Power.
