This is ‘GLBDOM Therapy’, the latest Various Artists digital compilation from renowned imprint GLBDOM. Eleven sublime and assorted tunes are like eleven different pills meticulously curated for your listening and dancing pleasure.

SI-FI lands first with some gorgeous urban garage vibes, followed swiftly by HATT.D offering an absolutely blissed out deep house cut. Hurlee delivers some driving, hands in the air house business, before Luca Olivotto comes through with pure hands in the air four-four sounds. In at the fifth spot is Guizz providing pounding basslines and synths all underscored with sultry vocal refrains, while Paul Rudder steps things up a notch, supplying a gorgeous, breakbeat infused piano house number. Bress Underground step up with a melancholy and retro tinged stomper of a piece, and DJ LOOKBOOK takes a warehouse-ready ’90s house bump, bringing the heat with some re-pitched vocals and rave style synths. Dan T is up next with an exquisite deep house beauty carefully layered with super airy vocal lines, before Sunny Galaxy comes through with a pad heavy tune incorporating a start to finish 80s feel. Finishing off the compilation is Peter LC, bringing things down nicely with a flawless, laid back chunk of deep house.

Luca Olivotto – Hotline (Sune Remix) [theBasement Discos]

Since its re-launch in 2019, prolific Valencia-based House label theBasement Discos has released more than 80 EPs, featuring artists such as COEO, Rhode & Brown, Marc Brauner, Tilman, Hotmood, and Kid Simius, receiving support by the likes of Moodymann, Disclosure, Cinthie, Jamie Jones and Mousse T. Therefore it’s about time to finally feature a release of the Spanish House label with the walking house mascot on Bolting Bits.

With his ‘Hotline’ EP, Berlin-based producer, DJ and Luca Olivotto makes his long-awaited debut on theBasement Discos. The EP consists of three original tracks and remixes by Sune and David Silver. The title track, ‘Hotline’, is an energetic, synth-loaden House track with a catchy main melody and acid bass, reminiscent of the House hits produced in Italy in the 80s and 90s. In the classic piano House groover ‘Sweetest Thing’, some honey-sweet bells play around with the piano stabs, bassline and cowbells. ‘Azzurro’ means “blue” in Italian, and just as its names suggests it, the sounds like a party on a beach of the Mediterranean sea. With its funky guitar riff, driving bassline, punchy drums and uplifting percussion, this track fits perfectly on theBasement Discos with its signature “buena onda” (Spanish for “good vibes”) sound and is a true party kickstarter.

Honey Butter Records head honcho Sune remixes ‘Hotline’ in his very own style. The result is a dreamy, warm and organic Deep House track whose guitar riff, ethereal synths and groovy bassline will take you on a journey both at home and on the dancefloor. Sisyphos Berlin resident DJ David Silver also chooses a more relaxed approach for his remix of ‘Azzurro’, creating a very tasty Disco track centered around the guitar, 80s-style lead synth, bass guitar and (newly added) soulful vocal sample.

All in all, a well-rounded EP which flows seamlessly from 80s-inspired House through Deep House to classic Disco.
