US Born, Marseille based house producer and DJ, Grant returns to Lobster Theremin, with a 9 track album brimming with warm, melodic, deep house cuts. Fantasy Blues drops November 29th via Lobster Theremin.

Opener, Ephemeral Chase signals a cosmic journey, driven with four to the floor motive. Mind Space is spaced out, modern deep-house at it’s best. On the flip, Zarenzeit joins Grant on Amaranthine Profundity, while Finite Elements chugs into an ethereal, vocal cut. Manifest picks up the pace, note a welcome homage to London town. Previous collaborator, Dan Piu features on stripped-back roller, Boundless. Joining forces on Invisible Skills, Brooklyn based composer Emil Abramyan injects otherworldly influences to the album, followed by Melancholic wiggler, Lucent Eyes. The Road In Front Of Me rounds out the release on soulful, classic tip, with velvet vocals courtesy of Jenifa Mayanja. Blissful.

Camarade release their first full EP titled Orwellian after several tracks for in-demand label group Childhood Intelligence. Dan Piu & Grant come together once more, but this time showcasing a completely fresh sound under a new moniker inspired by early IDM all while maintaining a clear grip on the dancefloor with deep atmospheric ambiance and rhythms. Floaty tunes for floaty times. Kick back with a spritzer and let your mind wander while the LFO wiggles lose your perception of reality.

Hidden under the veil of anonymity for years, Grant – now known to be Anthony Collins, half of Brooklyn’s revered Frank & Tony and co-founder of Scissor & Thread – has been a game changer in the lo-fi house scene. Pairing classic sounds from Detroit & Chicago house with complex textures and deep soundscapes, he’s created a powerful signature sound of his own. Having put out 6 impressive records under the wing of the Lobster Theremin family and his self-titled Grant offshoot, his partnership with head lobster Jimmy Asquith continues as he marks the second release on Asquith’s new label SITU Records.

[soundcloud url=”https://soundcloud.com/boltingbits/premiere-grant-dash-situ” /]
Today’s premiere is the A2 off this new venture, titled “Dash”. Things heat up as a moody bassline and 909 beat strut along in good Chicago fashion. As the track breaks down, pads ebb and flow, shimmering, plucky synths breeze in, distant strings echo, and a stuttering vocal emerges. The combination of elements prove effective as they all combine to make the perfect slow-burning groover, perfect for eyes-closed dancing in the morning hours.Across the Long Game EP, Grant offers up 4 cuts of moody oldschool house, taking us on a journey through the deeper end of things. Though never straying too far from his roots, Grant manages to sound fresh as ever, always bringing new energy to the table. Another buy on sight release from a masterful producer.
