‘Nelson of the East’ delves into new territory with this release; venturing into a new sonic landscape with a nod towards towards the club. However – the complex, percolating rhythmic flavours that have stood out in his previous productions remain at the forefront of all 3 tracks on this EP.

The track, ‘Sub Erotic’ encapsulates this new stripped back yet sophisticated approach that has been formulated for this EP.

A sparse arrangement leads to several meticulously crafted layers that interplay with one another throughout the entirety of the track – resulting in a simple yet absorbing outcome.

The funk laden bassline underpins the body of the track providing a simple yet effective groove that’s oh so easy to lock into, whilst the almost metallic drenched percussive element add an ever-morphing layer of ear candy above.

As in many of his previous releases, ‘Nelson of the East’ gives a nod to a host of non-western drum elements, patterns, and sequences that result in a dynamic yet organic rhythm that contribute to his truly authentic, creative and unique sound.
